Independent Staff Review
Overall Rating: 6.5
Doyle's Room is quickly growing and is managed by poker legends Doyle
Brunson and Mike Caro. Doyle's Room software provides nice graphics and
good functionality. Doyle's Room offers a nice software interface with good
playability. As with most online poker rooms, no-limit hold'em is the focus
here, but they have recently added Seven Card Stud and Stud Hi-Lo to their
lineup of poker games.
There are some nice features such as a buddy list function, private tables,
pot and no-limit ring games, live floor managers and multi-table tournaments.
Navigation is very easy and tabs allow for quick access to ring games and
tournaments.
Competition at Doyle's Room tends to be quite soft as they attract a loose
crowd from other network partner sites such as Golden Palace Casino.
Recent player traffic statistics show that Doyle's Room currently attracts
2,000-2,200 ring game players during peak times. Tournament traffic is quite
strong, with a solid 6,500-7,500 players at peak hours.

Poker Games Offered
If you download Doyle’s Room Poker, you can choose between the
following poker games:
- Texas Hold’em (No Limit, Pot Limit, and Limit)
- Omaha (Pot Limit and Limit)
- Omaha Hi-Low (Pot Limit and Limit)
- 7 Card Stud (Half Pot Limit and Limit)
- 7 Card Stud Hi-Low (Half Pot Limit and Limit)
- Badugi (Half Pot Limit and Limit)
Notes: Badugi is a lowball draw poker game where the best low hand with no
same suit or rank wins the pot. A 4 card hand beats a 3 card hand which beats a
2 card hand.
Limits and Rake
Doyle's Room usually has a $20/$40 Holdem game going, and a $150/$300
game is live as well. Micro limit tables are usually in play for every game, and
games are offered at limits anywhere from .02/.04 to $150/$300.
The rake at Doyle's Room is in line with the competition. Generally, a 5%
rake, with a $1 - $3 cap is the rule. Shorthanded games have an
abbreviated cap to allow for more play. Micro limit, and a "No Flop, No Drop"
policy make Doyle's Room an excellent choice with respect to the rake
collected. Caps on the rakes are similar to that of other sites, and in line with
industry standard.
Deposit Options
Doyle's Room offers the following options for deposits:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- NetTeller (No US Players)
- FirePay (No US Players)
- Electronic Funds Transfer (Wire)
The minimum deposit for NetTeller, FirePay and credit/debit transactions is
$25.
Frequent Player Points
Doyle's Room Action Points system automatically rewards you while you
play. You accumulate Action Points by playing in real money games, including
single- and multi-table tournaments. Additionally, from time to time, they may
offer additional opportunities for you to earn Action Points that are
redeemable for a variety of cool prizes and stuff. The more you play, the
more Action Points you earn.
How Action Points are awarded:
A pool of Action Points is generated per hand. Each time a bet is made, the
Action Points pool increases. So, the larger the pot, the more Action Points
there will be *.
The available points per pot will be distributed to all players who are dealt a
hand in the pot on a pro-rated (percentage) basis. The more you bet, the
larger your share of the hand's available Action Points will be -- and it doesn't
matter whether you win or lose the pot! Currently, Action Points awarded for
tournament fees are credited towards the Action Points usable for freeroll
entries and prizes.
* For every real money hand that is dealt a maximum of 300 Action Points will
be awarded.
Software and Playability
Doyle's Room usually doesn't have any kind of server delay, or problem with
the software. In over 40 hours of play on the site, I am not aware of getting
stuck or any service outages of any kind. Doyle's Room runs the Tribeca
Tables software for it's poker room. This is a respected software platform
used by many other large poker organizations online.
Action is easy to get, and the navigation of the room is simple. Tabs allowing
for quick navigation of the site are easy to understand, and the tables are
easy to get to. Actual game play at the tables is smooth, and it seems that
you see less of the waiting, and beginner game play mistakes made at many
of the larger sites. Pop up "reminder" windows can be pesky, but they aren't
in a distracting location on the screen, and they disappear in ten seconds or
so. Playability on Doyle's Room is excellent with a nice layout and no eye
strain.

- Action Points - Accumulate action points for some great poker prizes,
including Doyle's book Super System 2.

Customer Service
There is a live chat support function available 24/7, which works well. There is
also an 800 number, where players can call with questions, or problems.
Customer service seems excellent thus far.
