PokerStars and UB-Absolute Poker Offices Raided in Costa Rica

According to a new post at Tao Poker, the OIJ have raided the offices of PokerStars and UB/Absolute Poker located in Costa Rica.

According to several sources, the officials in Costa Rica are worried that PokerStars will not pay employees as their are indications that UB and Absolute Poker have not paid their employees.

Jonathan Duhamel: Winner of the 2010 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas

Jonathan Duhamel, a 23-year-old French-Canadian, beat John Racener heads-up to become the first Canadian to win the Main Event at the World Series of Poker.

When Duhamel started the final table he had a decisive advantage with 6:1 chip lead over runner-up John Racener. John Racener, an America poker pro, showed heart and lasted 40 hands in the heads-up match for the title. In the end, he could not overcome such a huge chip disadvantage.

On the final hand, Racener was all-in with Kd-8d and was beaten by Duhamel’s As-Jh. The board gave no help to either player and Duhamel won the hand with ace-high.

There were a total of 7,319 entries into the 2010 WSOP Main Event, which costs $10,000 to enter. The total prize pool was $68,798,600.
