Event #2 of the 2010 World Series of Poker concluded on June 1st after 5 days of play. This was the $50,000 buy-in Player’s Championship event which featured a mixed game format.

The final table consisted of three former WSOP gold bracelet winners with John Juanda (4 wins), Daniel Alaei (2 wins), and Robert Mizrachi (1 win). Final table play began eight-handed due to the mix of games played the previous four days.

The winner of Event #2 is Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi of Miramar, Florida who beat Vladimir Schmelev heads-up to win the $1,559,046 first place prize. Michael Mizrachi also received his first WSOP gold bracelet as well as the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.

Michael was at the final table along with his older brother, WSOP gold bracelet winner Roert Mizrachi. The two of them became involved in a hand and Michael ended up busting his older brother who finished in fifth place. It should be noted that this marked the highest finish by two family members is WSOP history.

2010 WSOP Updates: Event 2 – $50,000 Player’s Championship Final Table Set

Day 4 of the $50K Player’s Championship event concluded and the final table is set. The field was reuced from 21 players down to 8.

The remaining 8 players will return today to determine the winner who will walk away with $1.55 million in prize money as well as the coveted Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.

The final table features two brothers who know their way around a final table in a major tournament. Robert and Michael Mizrachi are among the eight final players left in the $50k Player’s Championship event.

Michael is looking to win his first WSOP gold bracelet while Robert is hoping to get his second bracelet.

$50K Player’s Championship – 2010 WSOP Event 2 Update

The first day of the $50,000 buy-in Player’s Championship concluded. A total of 116 players registered for Event #2 of the 2010 WSOP.

Among the noteable names who busted on Day 1 include Tom Dwan, Greg Mueller, and Brian Townsend. The tournament will resume at 3 PM and will be at Level 6. The chip leader at the End of Day 1 is Erik Sagstrom with 329,100 in chips.

2010 WSOP – Event 2 – $50K Player’s Championship Update

The $50,000 buy-in Player’s Championship is underway and some of the biggest names in poker are participating in this event including Greg Raymer, Doyle Brunson, Jeffrey Lisandro and Scotty Nguyen as well as many others.

There are a total of 107 players in this tourney and just before play began tributes began for the late Chip Reese. Doyle Brunson said that Reese was “the best player I’ve ever played with.”

Many of poker’s best players are in this tournament like Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, Freddy Deeb, Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Phil Hellmuth, Jennifer Harman and many other top pros.

The Player’s Championship is currently at Level 2 and we will post updates as they become available.
