2010 WSOP Updates: Event #1 – $500 Casino Employees No Limit Holdem

The 2010 World Series of Poker kicked off today with the start of Event #1 which began at noon Las Vegas time. This is a $500 buy-in Casino Employees No Limit Holdem tournament.

Last year’s defending champion Andrew Cohen got crippled while on the small blind when he got rivered by Cary Lucier who hit a straight.

Cohen then got knocked out with his A-K against Kristy Smith’s A-Q when the flop came Q-Q-Q and Cohen was drawing dead.

The first break for Event #1 has ended and the tourney is currently on Level 3 with blinds at 100/200.

2010 World Series of Poker Kicks Off at Rio Las Vegas

The 2010 World Series of Poker begins on May 28th and the first event is a $500 buy-in Casino Employees No Limit Holdem tournament. This event is scheduled to take place over 2 days.

The first open event at the 2010 WSOP will be Event #2 on May 28th which is the $50,000 buy-in Player’s Championship tournament and will be a 5 day event. This tournament will feature an 8-Game format which will most likely be restricted to top poker pros from around the world due to the huge buy-in amount.

8-Game is played six-handed and features 8 different variations of poker including 2-7 Triple Draw, Limit Holdem, Omaha 8, Razz, Seven Card Stud, Stud 8, No Limit Holdem and Pot-Limit Omaha.

The buy-in for this event is $190. HHPT will be raffling off to ONE lucky winner, a seat to the Ladies Event @ The RIO in June during the World Series along with money for travel expenses.

The spring schedule is jam packed with events all over the United States. May 15th has the HHPT going to Turning Stone, NY; May 19th to Harrah’s New Orleans for the WSOP Circuit Event; and May 22nd & 23rd for an HHPTAcademy and WSOP Ladies Event Satellite. In June HHPT will be heading to Vegas for the World Series. June 9th-11th HHPT will be hosting a hospitality suite at the RIO All Suites. Also, June 10th @ Hard Rock Las Vegas HHPT will be sponsoring a sit-n-go extravaganza for seats to the $1k Ladies Event held @ The RIO on June 11th. Then on June 12th HHPT heads back to the Hard Rock Las Vegas to close out Ladies Week with a Ladies Event co-sponsored by HHPT and Pink Ladies Poker Tour.

2010 World Series of Poker Satellites and Qualifiers at bet365 Poker

The World Series of Poker returns in 2010 and bet365 are offering more ways than ever to qualify for the most prestigious event in poker. The WSOP entails 57 individual events with exclusive bracelets available in each. WSOP 2010 – Satellite Qualification

Regular satellite qualifiers offer players four different ways to reach the World Series in Las Vegas. With ongoing feeder tournaments to all the main qualifiers, a seat can be won for just a few dollars. The following Packages are available:

Main Event Package – a $13,000 Package which includes a buy-in for the Main Event.

WSOP Warrior

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (April 8, 2010) – The High Heels Poker Tour (HHPT) will be hosting the first ever hospitality suite devoted specifically to women’s poker during the WSOP Ladies week June 9th-11th. During the three days HHPT along with other female focused poker companies and organizations will be catering to the women who come to the WSOP; located in Brasila 5 at the RIO Hotel and Suites in Las Vegas. Women will be able to come and interact with the HHPTA Poker Pros, relax and enjoy refreshments, network with other players, and explore some of the corporations and organizations that cater to or are owned by women. Some of the organizations and corporations participating are; PMS PokerWear.com, PokerJetsetter.com, Card Player Cruises, Susie Isaacs books and products, Pink Ladies PT and others.

The hospitality suite will be open from 10am-10pm for the three days and is complimentary. It will be closed to the public on June 10th until 5pm when the HighHeelsPokerTour Academy will be offering their annual Ladies Academy in preparation for the $1,000 Ladies Event held the following day at the RIO.

This is the first time an organization has focused on the women who play poker during poker’s most prestigious event season. Women are the fastest growing poker demographic and are ready to be heard, seen, and respected as a force to be reckoned with in the poker community.

This is a $50,000 Buy-in Mixed event which will feature games like Limit Holdem, 7 Card Razz, 7 Card Stud, Omaha Hi-Low Split, 7 Card Stud Hi-Low Split, No-Limit Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha and 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball.
