2011 World Series of Poker Recap Events 1 Through 7

The sixth day of the 2011 World Series of Poker is well underway and a total of five events have completed.

The first event of this year’s WSOP was the $500 Buy-in Casino Employee No Limit Hold’em tournament which attracted a total of 850 players. The total prize pool was $382,500 and the top 81 places were paid. Sean Drake of Sacramento, California tood down the first event to win $82,292 and a coveted WSOP gold bracelet. The runner-up was Jason Baker from Assinoboia, Canada who earned $50,807 for his second place finish.

The second event was the $25,000 Buy-in Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em Championship. This event had a total of 128 players and the prize pool was worth $3,040,000. Jake Cody of Rochdale, United Kingdom beat Yevginey Timoshenko to take down the gold bracelet and he was awarded $851,192 in prize money. Timoshenko of Mukilteo, Washinton took home $525,980 for his runner-up finish.

Event #3 of the 2011 WSOP was the $1,500 Buy-in Omaha Hi-Lo Split 8 or Better tournament. The total prize pool was $1,248,750 and 925 players entered this event. Francesco Barbaro of Willow Springs, Illinois finished in first place and won a total of $262,283 and a WSOP gold bracelet. He beat out Kostas Kalathakis heads-up who earned $161,675 for his second place finish.

Event #4 was the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament which attracted a total of 865 players with a prize pool of $4,065,500. Heads-up play came down to Maria Ho and Allen Bari. Bari finished in first place and earned $874,116 as well as a WSOP gold bracelet. Maria Ho of Arcadia, California took home $540,020 for her second place finish.

The fifth event of the 2011 World Series of Poker is the $1,500 Buy-in Seven Card Stud tournament. There was a total of 357 entries which created a prize pool worth $481,950. Eugene Katchalov of New York, NY beat Alessio Isaia heads-up to win $122,909 and a coveted WSOP gold bracelet. Isaia of Roccabruna, Italy received $75,911 for his second place finish.

The sixth event of the 2011 WSOP is a $1,500 Buy-in Limit Hold’em tournament. There was a total of 675 players entered which created a prize pool worth $911,250. Currently there are 8 players remaining with William Davis in the chip lead with 855,000. First place will pay $205,065 and play will end tonight.

Event #7 is the $10,000 Buy-in Pot-Limit Hold’em Championship which attracted a total of 249 players. The total prize pool is worth $2,340,600 with the winner receiving $573,456. Currently the chip leader is Tommy Vinas of Houston, Texas with 1,530,000 in chips. Robert Mizrachi recently finished in 12th place and received $40,890.
