RECORD ATTENDANCE AT WPT® BORGATA POKER OPEN

Championship Event Attracts 1,042 Players; Generates $3.4 Million Prize Pool

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (September 20, 2010) – The 2010 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship event got off to a record-breaking start this past weekend, drawing 1,042 poker professionals and amateurs to the Event Center and generating a prize pool of $3,438,600.

With the largest turn-out for a Borgata Poker Open championship event, and the largest field in the history of the World Poker Tour, Day 1 saw players from across the globe begin their quest for a title, with Vicenzo Abate (Toronto, Canada) leading the field as the chip leader with 201,475.

Among the 641 players returning for Day 2 action are former Borgata Poker Open Champions Olivier Buequet (2009) and Roy Winston (2007), as well as WSOP Main Event Champions Jerry Yang (2007) and Robert Varkonyi (2002), WSOP runner-up Steve Dannenmann (2005), and WSOP third place finisher from 2006 in Michael Binger. Other notable pros still in the tournament include WSOP bracelet winners Gavin Smith and Steve Zolotow, as well as Billy Gazes, Maria Ho, Tiffany Michelle, Bernard Lee, WPT commentator Mike Sexton, and Josh Brikis.

The 16-day Borgata Poker Open series will conclude this Thursday, as filming continues for the WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship event, which will be televised on Fox Sports Net.

HHPT is Making their Debut at Widhorse Resort Casino November 8th

HIGH HEELS POKER TOUR IS PART OF THE FALL ROUND UP LADIES EVENT ON NOVEMBER 8TH AT WILDHORSE RESORT CASINO

Ft. Lauderdale (September 10, 2010) – The HighHeelsPokerTour (HHPT), the first all women’s poker tour launched on the East Coast, is continuing it’s 2010 schedule at Wildhorse Resort Casino in Pendleton, OR. The HHPT have a presence at the annual Fall Round Up Ladies no-limit hold’em event on November 8th at 2:30 pm. The buy-in for this event is $165. The Ladies will receive 10,000 units.

The Summer/Fall schedule is busy with events all over the United States. In September, on the 25th the HHPT is going to Hallandale, FL at Mardi Gras Casino. The “Prince of Poker” takes center stage, Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 9 p.m. on ESPN.

Lon McEachern and Norman Chad co-host Day 3, Main Event of the 2010 World Series of Poker, presented by Jack Link’s Beef Jerky.

The opening hour will feature 1998 Champion Scotty Nguyen, a 5-time bracelet winner who nearly made the final table in 2007, seeking another shot at a second world title. To do so, he’ll have to contend with a slew of poker greats among more than 2,500 players still in contention, including 2009 Bluff Magazine Player of the Year Jason Mercier, Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi and 2004 WSOP Player of the Year Daniel Negreanu. Also looming in the field are reigning Main Event Champion Joe Cada and past titlists Johnny Chan, Chris Moneymaker and Dan Harrington.
