On Vacation in Las Vegas

I have been in Vegas since Friday, March 23rd and will be returning home on Sunday. I haven't been able to get a high speed internet connection, so I have not been able to update the site. Currently, the WSOP Circuit Tour is at Caesars Indiana. I will be putting up results as soon as possible for these events.

Please accept my apologies, I know that there are a lot of people who visit our site frequently for the latest news and results for the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour. Please bear with me as things will be back to mormal on our site very shortly. Thank you for understanding.

2007 LA Poker Classic $10,000 Championship Final Results

The 2007 LA Poker Classic $10,000 Championship has concluded. The Championship Event drew a total of 791 players and the prize pool was worth a whopping $7,593,600.

After taking a pretty substantial chip lead through Day 5, I was really rooting for JC tran to win this one. Tran is an excellent player who is always making final tables and cashing out in big money tournaments. JC Tran is from Sacramento, California and hi most recent win was at the 2006 Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio. Tran beat out a total o4 379 players in the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event. JC beat some top notch pro including David "Dragon" Pham, Men "The Master" Nguyen and Barry Greenstein.

JC Tran battled Eric Hershler heads up on March 1st for the title at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, California. Hershler is new to the tournament scene and does not have any previous cashes in any major poker tournaments.

Heads up play began with Eric Hershler holding a total of 8,700,000 in chips. JC Tran had 7,400,000 in his stack.

The final hand started with Eric Hershler on the small blind and on the button. Hershler called the big blind. JC Tran raised another 700,000 and Hershler called. The flop comes a Ad-Jc-6c. JC Tran leads out and bets 1,200,000. After thinking for a decent amount of time, Eric Hershler decides to move all-in. JC Tran calls. Hershler turns over his cards and shows a Jd-6d for two pair. Tran shows Ac-7s. Tran is way behind with only top pair. The turn produces a 4d which offers no help for Tran. River comes a 9h and Eric Hershler wins with two pair J's and 6's.

Eric Hershler of Los Angeles, California became the 2007 LA Poker Classic Champion and received a total of $2,429,970. Not a bad pay day at all for Eric's first major poker tournament win! Hershler will also receive a free $25,000 entry into the 2007 WPT Championhip to be held at Bellagio in April.

JC Tran finished in second place and won a total of $1,177,010. This was JC Tran's largest payday to date. Way to go JC, I'm always pulling for you when you make the final table!

Congratulations to the 2007 LA Poker Classic winner, Eric Hershler.
