Chip counts are available for the Championship Event at Harrah's Rincon WSOP Circuit throught day one. Event #11 is the $5,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold'em Championship tournament which drew a total of 181 entries. The prize pool is worth $877,850.
After ten days of preliminary events, the $5,000 Championship Event is underway at the 2007 Harrah's Rincon WSOP Circuit. There were a number of big name players entered in the event including Scotty Nguyen, Chris Ferguson, and Carlos Mortensen. This event attracted former WSOP gold bracelet winners Annie Duke, Layne Flack, Barry Greenstein, Gavin Griffin, Kathy Liebert, Max Pescatori, Robert Williamson III, and Todd Wittles. Some other players worth mentioning include Phil Gordon, Eric Lindgren, Gavin Smith, and James Van Alstyne.
The 2007 Harrah's Rincon Championship Event will take place from February 20th through the 22nd. One-hundred forty-eight players busted out on day one, leaveing 43 players remaining to battle it out for the final table.
Day 1 ended with Peter Feldman as the chip leader with a total of 128,700 in his stack. Peter Feldman is best know for his first place finish in the 2006 Harrah's New Orleans Championship Event. In second place in chips is Joe Sebok, son of Barry Greenstein, with a total of 119,100.
