2008 Legends of Poker Tournament Report
$300 No Limit Hold'em

Pat Peercy No Deal - Takes Title

Strong attendance continued into event #8 of the 2008 Legends of Poker
series. The $300+$35 No Limit Hold'em event drew 457 players and created a
prize pool of $132,987 with first prize paying $40,032. The final table was set
at 1:45am in the middle of the 15th level with a 1,000 ante and 3000/6000
blinds.

The first elimination occurred during hand #6 when 3-way when Oddie Dardon
pushed all-in and was called by Ernest Bennett and Lee Morgan. Oddie
shows a pair of ducks, Ernest shows his K-Q and chip leader Lee shows the
A-K. Oddie was the favorite going into the flop of 10-9-8. The turn 8 increased
Oddie's lead but the river King gave Lee the win and sent both Ernest and
Oddie out in 9th and 10th place respectively.

On hand #18 Joseph Chee was all-in with a Q-10 and was called and covered
by Lee Morgan holding pocket 6s. The board came A-8-2-2-K missing Joseph
completely. Joseph Chee finished in 8th place and earned $3,990. Lee has
knocked out three players in-a-row and he was about to strike again.

About one orbit later Lee and Kellie Brown saw a 7-high flop (7d-3d-2). Post
flop Kellie pushed all-in and was reluctantly called by Lee. Kellie showed her
flush draw with a 9d-5d and Lee held bottom pair. The turn and river were an
offsuit 6 and Ace. Lee's pair of deuces was the best hand and Kellie Brown
finished in 7th place and took home $5,320. Lee's record is 4-0 at the final
table. On hand #42 Jacky Lee was all-in with a K-Q from the small blind and
was called by the big blind, Hai Le, holding a dominating A-Q. The board was
all low cards (9-7-3-6-7) and Hai's Ace kicker was good enough to drag the
pot. Jacky Lee finished in 6th place and took home $6,650. Hai Le is one of
the may poker playing siblings in the Le family where older brother Nam Le
has gained the most notoriety.

Six hands later had Keith Helgevold all-in with his A-10 against Shane
Thaisamran's pocket 10s. Both Keith and Shane were relatively quiet and
involved in very few hands so far at the final table. The door card on the flop
was the Ace (A-J-2) and gave a strong lead to Keith. The turn Queen added
some outs for Shane with the straight draw but the river 3 kept Keith's top pair
on top. Shane Thaisamran was eliminated in 5th place while adding $7,980 to
his bankroll.

Four hands later Keith called the preflop all-in from Lee Morgan. Keith
showed 9-9 and Lee held Kc-8c. The flop was A-K-7 and left Keith behind to 2
outs. The turn 7 and river 5 wasn't enough for Keith and he was eliminated in
4th place earning $9,310. Lee booked his 5th knockout of the night.

Third place was secured about an hour later when Lee UTG and on the
button, raised 65,000 and was re-raised all-in from the small blind. The big
blind folded and Lee called immediately. Lee showed A-9 and Hai Le revealed
his pocket 8s. The paired flop looked good for Hai with a 4-3-3. The turn was
not so cooperative for Hai as the Ace hit. Looking for the 2 outer, Hai called
for the eight but a Queen hit and Lee Morgan's record was 6-2 while Hai Le
finished in 3rd for $10,640.

Heads up play began between Lee Morgan and Pat Peercy with each player
holding approximately 50% of the chips. It only lasted 4 hands when the
following confrontation occurred: Lee Morgan raised from the button for
65,000. Pat pushed all-in and Lee called. Lee, covered by Pat, showed 8-8
and Pat flipped over A-4. The flop was A-9-7 and Pat took the lead. The turn
4 increased Pat's lead with Aces-up and leaving Lee with two outs. The river
King ended the match. Pat Peercy scored his first knockout at the final table
at the perfect time to secure the win for $40,032 almost doubling the payout
for 2nd place Lee Morgan with $21,280.
