Day two ends -- 27 players set to return for day three
After two days of play, Peter Feldman has a slight chip lead over poker pro
Phil Ivey in the WSOP Circuit championship event at Harrah’s New Orleans.
Brian Townsend, Gavin Smith, and Hoyt Corkins also have over 100,000 in
chips and are in strong position to make it into the money.
Bust outs on day two included some big names, most notably 2005 World
Series of Poker Champion Joe Hachem (out 55th). Mimi Tran, John Juanda,
Bach “B” Vu (two-time event winner here in New Orleans), and 27 others also
did not last.
ESPN will provide full coverage, including the final table, which will take place
on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. Play will continue on day three until nine
players remain. Prize money will go to the top 18 finishers, including first
prize -- $532,950. Play resumes tomorrow at 11 am CST.
