Tournament Report
8th Place: Eighth place is determined while playing Hold-em. David Plastik
moves all-in called by David Williams and Marcel Luske. The flop is a 5s-8c-
Qh. Luske checks and Williams bets. Luske raises; Williams re-raises. The
flop is finally four bet. The turn is a 9d; bet by Luske and called by Williams.
The river is a 8s which is once again bet and called. Luske shows 8/5 for a
full house; Williams mucks his hand. All-in Plastik mucks as well and finishes
in 8th place.
7th Place: In Omaha; Andy Bloch goes all-in. He is called by Allen Kessler
and Al Ardebili, in the blinds. The flop is a Js-5s-4c; check/check by Kessler
and Ardebili. The turn a 9d; once again check/check. Ardebili bets the 3h on
the river which Kessler calls. Ardebeli shows A-2-Q-8 for the wheel. Kessler
tosses his hand into the muck. Bloch leaves in 7th place.
6th Place: Sixth place goes down in Omaha as well. David Levy pushes all-
in and called by Williams and Ardebili. The board completes with Kd-10s-5d,
As, and 8c. Williams wins high with a Q-J, nut straight while Ardebili wins
low. Levy comes up short in 6th place.
5th Place: Stud is being played during the determination of 5th Place.
Carlos Mortensen completes with two pair; J’s and deuces. Williams fills up
with kings full of jacks. Kessler mucks. Mortensen ends the tournament in
5th place.
In stud 8/btr, David Williams doubles through Marcel Luske. Each player
having two pair, Williams A’s and 5’s prove to be the better two pair. Shortly
thereafter when the game switches to Omaha; the chip counts are:
Williams-$30,000, Luske-$88,000, Kessler-$42,000 and Ardebili-$80,000.
4th Place: Kessler declares all-in and goes to battle with Ardebili. The flop is
a 6d-Ad-Jc, turn Qh and river 4d. Ardebili rivers the flush. Without a low,
Kessler sinks into 4th place.
3rd Place: Ardebili ends the tournament in stud bringing in the action with
the low board card. Williams raises; Ardebili re-raises all-in. When the dust
clears, Williams shows down two pair; K’s and 2’s for two pair to win the pot.
Ardebili walks to the cashier’s window for a 3rd place win.
The tournament ends with a very exciting round of Stud 8/btr. Several great
hands are played very well to an enthusiastic audience. Williams scoops a
very big pot with a 6 straight; 6 low. Luske is down to about $25,000 while
Williams stacks the balance of the chips; well over $200,000.
2nd Place/1st Place: The final stud 8 hand has Williams holding a pair of 9’s
in the hole. His board cards are 3,5,7,6 with a K on seventh street. Luske,
all-in, has nothing. His final cards are A,9,3,6,K,10,J. Marcel Luske finishes in
2nd place. David Williams unimproved with the pocket 9’s wins 1st place.
