Tournament Report

The final table has been in progress for some time.  The winners for sixth
through ninth place have been determined; we pick up the game activity at
this point.

5th Place:  Robert Swigkard in seat four pushes all-in; called by Earl Kim in
seat eight.  Swigkard show Jd-Qs to Kim’s Ac-9d.  The flop is 4d-9h-2s, turn
6c and river Kh.  Kim wins the pot with a pair of  9’s.  Swigkard takes down
5th place.

4th Place:  Arthur Bressler declares all-in and is called by Gordon Rubbo.
Bressler turns pocket J’s to Rubbo’s suited A-K spades.  Rubbo catches his
pair with a flop of Ah-8h-9s.  The turn; Kd adds to Bressler’s despair.  The 4c
on the river completes the board.  Bressler finishes in 4th place.

3rd Place:  In the small  blind, Rubbo raises to $6000.  Ben Reynolds comes
over the top with a reraise to $20,000; Rubbo pushes all-in.  Rubbo shows
the Kc-9s and Reynolds a Ac-9h.  The flop is Qc-2d-3d.  A 9d on the turn gives
each player a pair with Reynolds holding the better kicker.  An A on the river
sends Rubbo to the cashier in 3rd place.

A quick chip count shows Earl Kim in the lead with $ 114,000 to Larry Watson’
s $ 76,000.  Several of the next hands are won with small pairs or with a
raise and fold by the opponent.  In most cases, there is a no-show of cards
due to the lack of opposition.  A pot is chopped when the board shows over-
cards to each players hand.

2nd Place/ 1st Place:

In the final hand, Kim with the button/small blind smooth calls Watson who
checks in the big blind.  The flop is a 2d-9c-7d giving Kim several outs to a
flush draw and Watson the top pair of 9’s.  Watson bets the flop to $10,000;
Kim calls.  An 8s on the turn is bet by Watson to $20,000; once again Kim
calls.  A 6d on the river gives Kim the king high flush ending the Seniors
tournament.  Larry Watson plays well to a 2nd place finish.  Earl Kim is the
1st place winner.
