Tournament Report

Play Commences at our final table with the small blind at $1500, big blind at
$3000 with an ante of $500.  Jim, in the big blind bets out $18,000, gets re-
raised by Ronnie to $40,000 and Allen pushes all-in.  Jim folds his hand to the
all-in bet and Ronnie calls.  Ronnie shows up the KhJc to Allen’s pair of 8’s.
“And the flop is” 2h-8c-Js.  Allen’s set dominates when the turn and river offer
no additional help to Ronnie.  Allen doubles through with the win.

Shortly thereafter, Jim declares all-in for $12,000 and gets called by Ronnie in
the big blind.  Jim shows the Kh-10h to Ronnie’s Ks-9d.  Ronnie flops two pair
with the 9s-4s-Kh. The turn gives Jim the lead when a 10c comes along.  A 3s
on the river gives additional help to neither player; Jim doubles through.

9th Place:

In the small blind, Brad declares all-in; called by Paul.  Brad shows 5s-2h to
8s-9c for Paul.  Paul flops the nut straight with a 6d-5d-7c.  The turn and river
are of no salvation and Brad finishes in 9th place.

8th Place:

Yohanes bets all-in; called by Allen.  Yohanes turns over an Ah-Qh to Allen’s
Ac-Kd.  The flop, turn and river match neither player.  Allen’s A-K takes down
the pot and Yohanes finishes in 8th place.

The time limit ends with a break for the players.  When play commences the
small blind will be $2000, big blind $4,000 with a $500 ante.

7th Place:

A few hands later, Steve calls Ronnie’s all-in bet.  It’s Ac-Qh for Steve and As-
7d for Ronnie.  The flop comes 6c-4d-8h; turn Kd and river 9c.  Steve wins A
high and Ronnie exits in 7th place.

Several of the hands to come are uneventful.  David doubles through Jim with
a pocket pair of A’s to Jim’s pocket Q’s.  Later Jim doubles through David
when his A in the hole pairs on the flop to David’s pocket 4’s.

6th Place:

Play picks up pace from 6th place through 3rd.  For 6th place, Paul pushes all-
in and is called by Allen.  Paul shows big slick to Allen’s Kc-Jd.  The Kc
becomes the winning card when flop, turn and river provide four more clubs.
Paul wins 6th place.

5th Place:

Dayne goes all-in called by Allen.  Dayne rolls the 10d-9d and Allen the Ac-7c.
The flop is 9c-Ad-10c; the turn 7s and river 4s.  Allen’s two pair sends Dayne
to the cashiers window in 5th place.

4th Place:

In the small blind, Jim goes all-in; called by Allen.  Jim has pocket 5’s to Allen’s
pocket Q’s.  The flop, turn and river offer no additional help.  Allen dominates
Jim; who takes down a 4th place finish.

3rd Place:

Small blind, David with pocket 9’s goes up against big blind Steve with Ad-
Kd.  Pocket 9’s lead on the flop but fall back into second when a Kh comes on
the turn.  The 6s on the river is a brick for each player.  Steve’s K’s dominate;
David leaves in 3rd place.

The blinds increase to $3000/$6,000 with a $1,000 ante.  Allen has a
significant chip lead over Steve.

2nd Place/ 1st Place:

The winning hands volley between Steve and Allen.  The final hand has Allen
on the button/small blind who calls Steve in the big blind; Steve checks.  The
flop is Ad-Jd-Qd; check/check.  The turn is the 7d; Steve bets $20,000 and
Allen calls.  The river is a 3h, Steve pushes all-in and Allen goes into the tank
for several minutes finally making the call.  Allen flopped a flush with the 9d-
3d; Steve pick-ed the wrong time to play the bluff.  Steve goes out in 2nd
place to our winner; Allen Cunningham in 1st.
